Im Rayan

Im Rayan is a French DJ/compositor that specializes in LoFi. He has just released his first three singles on all major platforms. These singles in reference are ‘Lost Runner’, ‘Sky Foam’, and ‘Forezy’. Each track has beautiful synths that create a world of color, yet keep a mellow groove in the foreground. In their track ‘Forezy’ the drum keeps a steady kick while some piano keys, reminiscent of the plucking of a harp, keep the story flowing. Soon enough, subtle flutes peak their way into the track and elevate it to its guitar finish — A track that gives reminders of Tom Misch in the best way possible. A top grade from me on that one.
As for Sky Foam, the track starts off with some piano chords, claps, & hats. Immediately a picture is painted of a light blue sky poking through the clouds, with the sun sheathed behind them. As frequencies begin to shift, a jazzy piano comes into play and carries us away into a carefree melody, as if we were kids once again rolling down the hills. This is a track that brings you back to childhood memories, of those warm days under billowing clouds.
The final track, Lost Runner, brings us to a bit of a different tone. This track feels very tight and dialed in, a kind of focus found in a night time drive or an upscale restaurant. This songs feels ‘clean’ in a sense, with subtle sounds reminding you of diamonds being placed upon a glass table, and the boom bap of the drum making sure everything stays in check. Im Rayan clearly had precision in mind when producing this track, as everything seems to fall exactly in to place, exactly where it needs to be.
Im Rayan has done an excellent job crafting these first three singles, and I am excited to see what comes next for them. I can only imagine their already-great production and writing skills will be taken to the next level with every subsequent release, so you know Im Rayan is destined for greatness.
