S.A.E - Millions
S.A.E. (Savages Always Eat), an artist duo out of Lumberton, Mississippi, has dropped their new single ‘MILLIONS.’ Apollo Jay, the producer of the track, worked their magic straight from the start. The scene is set with mysterious synthesizers that let you know some heat is about to go down, immediately followed by heavy-hitting kicks and catchy hi-hats. The drum rhythm holds the track down, as to not overpower the powerful vocal performance. Speaking of vocal performance, the lyrics are unrelenting as vocal fills the track, drilling down line after line in full force, while vocal runs create harmony in the background.
S.A.E. shows that they mean business — stopping at nothing to come out on top & bring their brothers up with them. Family first is their motto and they’re not afraid to do whatever it takes to solidify that statement. I encourage you to listen closely to the lyrical content of this track — it is worthwhile to listen time after time as you will pull out new meaning each time, furthering the narrative. The writers of this track did an excellent job setting the scene to be straightforward, yet interpretive.
As for the mix, it is a work of art. Apollo Jay obviously put a lot of thought and effort into this track — you can tell it was EQ’d to perfection as each instrument carves their own space in the mix, and has room to breathe. The soundstage is comparable to listening live on stage. The kick is heavy, the highs are satisfying, & the vocal cuts straight through the center like a knife. The synth fills the gaps to paint the full picture. I’d highly recommend this song to anyone who is on the up and up, with a mindset of never giving up and hustling for your family. This is fitting for those night time drive playlists where you just want to lock in — as well as those situations where you’re about to hustle.
